NIBRS Federal Standards
The Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division of the FBI is responsible for the operation, management and policy-setting aspects of the NIBRS program at the federal level. Crime data are, for the most part, supplied by federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to the FBI on a monthly basis.
