RELATIVITY, INC. RECEIVES DEPARTMENT OF
DEFENSE STAND-ALONE CERTIFICATION
Jonesboro,
AR-(July 1, 2000 to July 1, 2003) Reaching an important milestone, Relativity,
Inc's R2M (Relativity Record Manager) software application
has been officially certified as compliant with the US Department of
Defense standard.
"This certification is the culmination of months of tireless development
efforts by our staff," Relativity, Inc. President Dillon Watkins
said. "As a US owned and operated company, we are particularly
excited to see R2M receive certification and get placed on the
RMA product register as a stand-along application."
The Standard (officially known as the Design Criteria Standard for Electronic
Records Management Software Applications), approved in late 1997 by
Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense Anthony Valletta, establishes
mandatory baseline functional requirements for software used by DoD
components in implementation of their records management programs. It
also stipulates required system interfaces, search criteria support
essentials, and minimum records management requirements based on the
National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) regulations.
"This standard is effective immediately and is mandatory for use
by DOD components (agencies)," according to DOD directives issued
at that time. Electronic records management information systems already
in use were required to comply with the standard within two years.
R2M is now listed on the Records Management Software Applications
Product Register as proscribed by the compliance registration procedures,
managed by the Joint Interoperability Test Command of the Defense Information
Systems Agency (DISA) in Arizona.
R2M is certainly one of the most comprehensive records management
applications available today," Watkins said. "It addresses
every facet of records management and incorporates ergonomic visual
elements conducive to productive usage, such as larger icons and intuitive
flow."
